Therapy for the perinatal population in Evanston, IL

Is your infertility journey or the transition to new parenthood completely overwhelming?

Maybe your fertility treatment isn’t going as expected, or perhaps you’re headed back to work after parental leave. You may be simply going through the motions, or comparing yourself to everyone else you know. Perhaps you’re feeling like this is so much harder than you anticipated.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re beginning to notice the impact of this in every part of your life:

  • Your emotions feel out of control.

  • Your relationship with your partner is suffering.

  • Your social support feels non-existent.

  • You thought this would be a joyful time, but instead you feel tired and numb.

It’s possible to feel like yourself again. You can feel supported and understood. You can integrate your current reality into your existing identity.

Therapy can help you…

  • Begin your process of healing.

  • Feel supported in your unique experience.

  • Cultivate self-awareness and examine your world from new perspectives.

  • Identify unhelpful patterns in your coping style and environment.

  • Develop strategies to manage overwhelming emotions and a framework to consider your evolving identity.

I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. I have completed specialized training in this area through Postpartum Support International. My approach to therapy with new parents and people experiencing infertility comes from a place of compassion: each of these journeys can be unbearably difficult, but support, perspective, and new strategies can help you feel like yourself again. I use my own lived experience to relate to you.
